Wash and dry your hands
Remove any outer seal or plastic wrap
Check the lid for a tamper ring or vacuum seal
Tap the lid edges gently with a spoon
Run the lid under warm water for 30 to 60 seconds
Use a rubber grip pad or kitchen towel to hold the lid
Twist the lid counterclockwise
If needed, pry up the edge of the lid slightly to release the seal
Use a jar opener tool if the lid is still stuck
Ask someone else to help if it remains difficult to open
