Use eggs that are 7–14 days old
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil
Lower eggs into the water gently
Boil for 10–12 minutes for hard-boiled eggs
Prepare an ice bath in a bowl
Transfer eggs to the ice bath immediately after boiling
Chill eggs for at least 10 minutes
Crack the shell all over before peeling
Peel under running water or in a bowl of water
Start peeling from the wider end of the egg
Store eggs in the refrigerator before boiling if possible
