How To Bring Down Fever In Newborn?

Check the baby’s temperature with a rectal thermometer if possible

For a newborn under 3 months old, call a doctor right away for any fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher

Do not give any fever medicine unless a doctor tells you to

Do not use cold baths, ice, or alcohol rubs

Dress the baby in one light layer

Keep the room comfortably cool

Offer breast milk or formula more often

Keep the baby hydrated

Remove extra blankets if the baby is overheated

Seek urgent medical care immediately if the baby is hard to wake, breathing fast, feeding poorly, has a rash, or seems very unwell
