Remove the wheel from the bike
Deflate the tire completely
Use tire levers to pry one side of the tire bead off the rim
Pull the inner tube out of the tire
Inspect the tire and rim for thorns, glass, or sharp edges
Check the rim tape and replace it if damaged
Inflate the new tube slightly to give it shape
Insert the tube valve through the valve hole in the rim
Tuck the tube evenly inside the tire
Push the tire bead back onto the rim, starting opposite the valve
Make sure the tube is not pinched between the tire and rim
Inflate the tire gradually
Check that the tire bead is seated evenly all the way around
Reinstall the wheel on the bike
Test the tire pressure before riding
