Park the vehicle on a flat surface and turn it off
Set the parking brake
Open the trunk, hatch, or access panel behind the tail light
Remove any trim cover if needed
Unscrew or unclip the tail light assembly
Pull the assembly straight out carefully
Disconnect the electrical connector if attached
Remove the old bulb by twisting or pulling it out, if replacing only the bulb
Insert the new bulb without touching the glass
Reconnect the electrical connector
Reinstall the tail light assembly
Tighten the screws or clips
Reinstall any trim cover
Test the tail light to make sure it works
