Warm your hands and the room
Gently feel the scrotum with both hands
Check whether both testicles are present in the scrotum
Compare the size and position of both sides
Feel along the groin area for a testicle that may be higher up
Check whether one side of the scrotum looks empty or smaller
Notice whether a testicle moves down into the scrotum and then goes back up
Check during a warm bath or after the body is relaxed
Do not force or squeeze the area
Seek medical evaluation if a testicle cannot be felt in the scrotum
Seek medical evaluation if one testicle is consistently higher than the other
Seek medical evaluation if there is pain, swelling, or redness
Seek medical evaluation if the testicle was previously in the scrotum and is no longer there
