How To Chop An Onion?

Cut the onion in half from root to tip

Peel off the skin

Place one half cut-side down on the cutting board

Make vertical slices from the cut side toward the root, stopping short of the root

Make horizontal slices across the onion

Make crosswise slices downward to dice

Repeat with the other half

For rings: slice the onion into rounds, keeping the root intact

For wedges: cut the onion into quarters, then slice into wedges
