Put on disposable gloves

Blot up excess liquid with clean paper towels or a cloth
Sprinkle baking soda, cornstarch, or kitty litter over the area
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Vacuum up the powder
Mix warm water with a small amount of dish soap or carpet cleaner
Blot the stain with the cleaning solution using a clean cloth
Repeat blotting with fresh cloths until the stain lifts
Rinse the area by blotting with clean water
Blot dry with dry towels
Sprinkle baking soda over the area to help remove odor
Let it sit until dry, then vacuum
If needed, apply an enzyme cleaner and follow the label directions
Open windows or use a fan to speed drying
Repeat the process if any stain or smell remains
