How To Cook A Scallops?

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels

Remove the side muscle if present

Season lightly with salt and pepper

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat

Add a small amount of oil with a high smoke point

Place scallops in the pan without crowding

Sear for 1.5 to 2 minutes without moving them

Flip the scallops

Add butter if desired

Cook the second side for 1 to 2 minutes until opaque and lightly firm

Remove from the pan immediately

Serve right away
