How To Cook Broccoli Rabe?

Trim the thick ends and remove any tough stems

Rinse the broccoli rabe thoroughly in cold water

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil

Blanch the broccoli rabe for 1 to 3 minutes

Drain and transfer immediately to ice water if you want to stop the cooking

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat

Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, if desired

Add the broccoli rabe and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes

Season with salt and black pepper

Add lemon juice or a splash of vinegar, if desired

Serve hot
