Rinse the edamame pods under cold water
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil
Add the edamame pods to the boiling water
Boil for 3 to 5 minutes if fresh or 5 to 7 minutes if frozen
Drain the edamame
Rinse with cold water if you want to stop the cooking
Sprinkle with salt
Serve warm or at room temperature
