How To Cook Dried Beans?

Sort the beans and remove any stones or damaged beans

Rinse the beans under cold water

Soak the beans in plenty of water for 8 to 12 hours or overnight

Drain and rinse the soaked beans

Place the beans in a pot and cover with fresh water

Bring to a boil

Reduce to a simmer

Skim off any foam if needed

Cook until tender, adding water as needed

Check for doneness periodically

Season with salt near the end of cooking

Drain the beans if needed

Use immediately or store after cooling
