Add a small amount of oil if needed
Add the Italian sausages to the skillet in a single layer
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned
Reduce heat to medium-low
Add a small amount of water to the skillet if desired
Cover the skillet with a lid
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally
Check that the internal temperature reaches 160°F for pork sausage or 165°F for poultry sausage
Remove the sausages from the skillet
Let them rest for a few minutes before serving
