Slice the smoked sausage into rounds or leave it whole
Heat a skillet over medium heat
Add a little oil or butter if needed
Place the sausage in the skillet
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and heated through
For whole sausage, cook 8 to 10 minutes, turning often
Add sliced onions, peppers, or other vegetables if desired
Serve hot
Optional: boil in water for 5 to 10 minutes before browning
Optional: bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes
Optional: grill over medium heat for 6 to 10 minutes, turning often
