Open the Venmo app or go to the Venmo website
Log in to your account
Go to Settings
Select Security or Account settings
Choose Close account or Deactivate account
Follow the on-screen prompts
Confirm your identity if asked
Make sure your Venmo balance is zero
Transfer any remaining funds to your bank account
Cancel any pending payments or requests
Remove linked bank accounts or cards if needed
Confirm the account closure
Save any records you need before deactivating
