Put the steak in a sealed, leak-proof plastic bag
Submerge the bag in cold water
Change the water every 30 minutes
Use the microwave’s defrost setting if cooking immediately after
Separate any steaks that are stuck together before thawing
Keep the steak refrigerated if not cooking right away
Do not thaw at room temperature
Cook the steak immediately after microwave defrosting
Pat the steak dry before cooking
