Turn on formatting marks so section breaks are visible
Place the cursor just before the section break
Press Delete to remove it
If that does not work, place the cursor just after the section break
Press Backspace to remove it
In Word, you can also switch to Draft view to make section breaks easier to find
Delete the section break carefully, since it may change page layout or formatting
