Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
Sign in with the Microsoft account you want to delete
Select “More options” (or “Close account”)
Choose “Close your account”
Review the information shown on the page
Select the reason for closing
Select “Mark account for closure”
Complete any verification steps requested
Wait for the closure process to finish (typically up to 60 days)
After closure completes, confirm sign-in is no longer possible and services are no longer available
If you use a Microsoft account for Xbox, Outlook, OneDrive, or Microsoft 365, ensure you’ve canceled or transferred any needed subscriptions/files before closure
