Empty the water reservoir and remove any water filter
Turn off and unplug the Keurig
Remove the drip tray and K-Cup holder
Wash the removable parts with warm, soapy water and rinse well
Reassemble the machine
Fill the reservoir with Keurig descaling solution and water, or use a 1:1 mix of white vinegar and water
Place a large mug on the drip tray
Run a brew cycle without a K-Cup
Discard the hot liquid
Repeat until the reservoir is empty
Let the machine sit for 30 minutes if using descaling solution or vinegar
Rinse the reservoir thoroughly and fill it with fresh water
Run multiple rinse cycles with plain water until the reservoir is empty
Wipe the exterior of the machine clean
Reinsert the water filter if applicable
Plug the machine back in and use normally
