Fill the water tank with fresh water
Add descaling liquid to the tank according to the product instructions (or use Nespresso descaling solution)
Place a container (at least 1 L) under the coffee outlet and, if applicable, the hot water spout
Turn on the machine
Start the descaling cycle (press the appropriate button(s) for your model, typically a combination of the power and brew buttons)
Run the cycle until the tank is empty (follow the machine’s prompts)
Rinse the tank thoroughly
Fill the tank with fresh water
Run a rinse cycle by pressing the brew/hot water button(s) until the tank is empty
Repeat the rinse cycle with fresh water if the machine prompts or if the water still smells/tastes of descaler
Empty the drip tray and container
Refill the tank with water and run a final brew/hot water cycle with fresh water (if required by your model)
Stop when the machine indicates completion and return to normal operation
