Wash your hands and trim your nails
Sit or lie in a comfortable position
Start with deep, slow breathing
Use very light pressure
Begin at the neck with gentle strokes toward the collarbone
Massage the collarbone area with soft, circular motions
Move to the armpits with light pumping motions
Massage the abdomen with gentle clockwise strokes
Work on the legs from the feet upward toward the groin
Work on the arms from the hands upward toward the armpits
Always stroke toward the nearest lymph nodes
Repeat each movement several times
Keep movements slow and rhythmic
Drink water after the massage
Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort
Avoid massage over infections, wounds, swelling of unknown cause, or blood clots
