Gather your materials: decoupage glue or Mod Podge, scissors, brush or sponge, paper or napkins, and the item to decorate
Clean and dry the surface completely
Cut or tear the paper into the shapes you want
Arrange the pieces on the surface before gluing
Apply a thin layer of glue to the surface
Place the paper onto the glue and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles
Brush another thin layer of glue over the top of the paper
Repeat with additional layers if needed
Let each layer dry fully before adding the next
Trim any excess paper after drying
Seal the finished piece with a final coat of glue or sealer
Allow the project to cure completely before use
