Remove outlet covers and wall fixtures
Clean the wall surface
Repair holes, cracks, and uneven spots
Mark a level starting line
Dry-fit the tiles
Apply tile adhesive or thinset
Set the tiles in place
Use spacers for even gaps
Cut tiles as needed for edges and outlets
Let the adhesive cure
Remove spacers
Mix and apply grout
Wipe off excess grout
Let the grout cure
Apply grout sealer if needed
Reinstall outlet covers and fixtures
Caulk edges and joints
Clean the finished backsplash
