Check for visible obstructions with a flashlight

Use tongs or pliers to remove any loose debris

Insert the hex wrench into the bottom center slot and turn it back and forth to free the impeller

Press the reset button on the bottom of the unit

Run cold water into the sink

Turn the power back on

Run the garburator with cold water for a few seconds

Add ice cubes and coarse salt to help clear residue

Avoid putting grease, bones, fibrous foods, coffee grounds, or starchy foods into the garburator

If it still hums, trips, or will not drain, call a plumber or appliance technician
