Use an antiseptic wash only if recommended by a healthcare professional
Seek medical care if the boil is large, very painful, recurrent, or not improving
Seek urgent care if you have fever, spreading redness, red streaks, or multiple boils
See a doctor if you have diabetes, a weakened immune system, or frequent boils
