Ask for a chlamydia test
Provide a urine sample or a swab sample from the vagina, cervix, penis, rectum, or throat
Follow the clinic’s instructions before testing
Avoid urinating for at least 1 hour before a urine test if instructed
Avoid sex until you have your results if possible
Get tested if you have symptoms, a new partner, multiple partners, or unprotected sex
Get tested regularly if you are sexually active and at higher risk
Ask about testing for other STIs at the same time
Follow up for your results and treatment if the test is positive
