Use a saline nasal spray or rinse
Drink plenty of fluids
Inhale steam from a warm shower or bowl of hot water
Use a humidifier in your room
Sleep with your head elevated
Blow your nose gently
Apply a warm compress over your nose and forehead
Avoid smoke, strong odors, and other irritants
Try over-the-counter decongestants if appropriate
Use over-the-counter antihistamines if allergies are the cause
Rest as much as possible
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, last more than 10 days, or include fever, facial pain, or trouble breathing
