Wash and dry your hands
Remove the NuvaRing from the foil pouch
Hold the ring between your thumb and index finger
Squeeze the ring into a narrow oval
Choose a comfortable position, such as standing with one leg raised, squatting, or lying down
Gently separate the labia with your other hand
Insert the ring into the vagina
Push it upward and back until it feels comfortable
Leave it in place for 3 weeks unless your clinician tells you otherwise
Wash your hands again after insertion
