Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Disconnect the old disposal if replacing one
Remove the old mounting assembly if needed
Install the sink flange and plumber’s putty
Tighten the mounting ring under the sink
Attach the disposal to the mounting assembly
Connect the drain pipe to the disposal outlet
Connect the dishwasher drain line if applicable
Wire the disposal according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Secure the electrical cover plate
Check that all connections are tight
Restore power at the breaker
Run water and test the disposal
Check for leaks and tighten connections if needed
