Measure the door opening and confirm the sliding screen door size fits
Gather the screen door, handle, rollers, screws, screwdriver, drill, and level
Remove the old screen door if one is already installed
Clean the track and remove dirt, debris, and obstructions
Check the top and bottom tracks for damage and repair if needed
Adjust the rollers on the new screen door to their lowest position
Lift the screen door into the top track first
Set the bottom of the door into the bottom track
Slide the door back and forth to check alignment
Use a level to make sure the door is straight
Adjust the rollers until the door moves smoothly and sits evenly
Tighten the roller adjustment screws once aligned
Install the handle and latch hardware according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Test the latch to make sure the door closes securely
Add a door sweep or weatherstripping if needed
Recheck all screws and hardware after installation
