How to Remove a Doorknob with No Screws?

Check the knob for a small release slot, pinhole, or detent on the shaft or neck

Insert a paperclip, pin, or small flat tool into the release slot

Press the release while pulling the knob straight off

Look for a hidden set screw on the side or underside of the knob

Loosen the set screw with the correct Allen wrench

Pull the knob off once the set screw is loose

Pry off the decorative trim plate or cover ring with a flat screwdriver

Remove any exposed mounting screws under the trim plate

If there are spring clips, depress them with a flat tool and slide the knob free

If the knob is a push-in style, twist the knob while pulling outward

Remove the latch faceplate screws on the edge of the door

Pull the latch assembly out of the door edge

If the knob still will not come off, check for a snap ring or retaining clip and remove it with pliers

Reassemble by reversing the removal steps if needed
