Turn off the water supply
Remove the old tub spout, if present
Clean the pipe or wall connection
Check the spout type and connection style
Measure the pipe length if using a slip-on spout
Apply plumber’s tape to threaded connections, if required
Slide the new spout onto the pipe or screw it onto the fitting
Align the spout so the diverter faces the correct direction
Tighten the set screw, if the spout has one
Tighten the threaded connection securely, if applicable
Seal around the wall opening with caulk, if needed
Turn the water supply back on
Test the spout for leaks
Test the diverter by pulling or lifting it to confirm proper water flow to the showerhead
