Light spotting rather than a heavy flow
Pink or brown color instead of bright red
Very small amount of blood
Lasts a few hours to 1–2 days
Happens about 6–12 days after ovulation
No clots or large tissue pieces
Mild or no cramping
Does not get progressively heavier
Occurs around the time a period is expected but is shorter and lighter
Pregnancy test may turn positive a few days later
If bleeding is heavy, painful, or prolonged, it is less likely to be implantation bleeding
