Inability to move the shoulder normally
Arm held close to the body for comfort
Swelling around the shoulder
Bruising around the shoulder
Numbness or tingling in the arm, hand, or fingers
Weakness in the arm or hand
Feeling of instability or the shoulder “slipping”
Loss of range of motion
A popping or tearing sensation at the time of injury
One shoulder appearing lower, flatter, or different from the other
Pain that worsens with any attempt to move the arm
Seek urgent medical care if a dislocation is suspected
