Pull back the grease gun plunger rod and lock it in place
Unscrew or remove the grease gun barrel from the head
Remove the empty grease cartridge if one is installed
Insert a new grease cartridge into the barrel
Peel off or remove the cartridge seal from the exposed end
Reattach the barrel to the grease gun head
Release the plunger rod so it contacts the cartridge
Open the bleed valve or loosen the head slightly if needed to prime
Pump the handle until grease flows smoothly from the nozzle
Wipe off any excess grease and check for leaks
