Choose a corset pattern and your size
Gather materials: fashion fabric, lining fabric, corset coutil or sturdy canvas, boning, boning channels, busk, grommets, lacing, thread, and binding
Take accurate body measurements
Adjust the pattern to your measurements
Cut all pattern pieces from the fabric, lining, and strength layer
Mark all notches, grainlines, and boning placements
Sew the outer fabric pieces together
Sew the lining pieces together
Sew the strength layer pieces together
Press all seams open
Attach the strength layer to the outer layer
Insert boning channels or stitch channel lines
Sew the busk into the front closure
Add boning to each channel
Attach the lining to the corset
Finish the top and bottom edges with binding
Mark and install grommets at the back opening
Thread the lacing through the grommets
Try on the corset and adjust fit if needed
Reinforce any weak seams or stress points
Trim loose threads and finish all edges neatly
