Gather materials: newspaper or scrap paper, flour or white glue, water, bowl, whisk, balloon or face mold, scissors, tape, paintbrush, and paint
Tear paper into strips
Mix paper mache paste with flour and water or use diluted white glue
Inflate a balloon or prepare a mold
Cover the mold with tape if needed for easy removal
Dip paper strips into the paste
Remove excess paste from each strip
Layer strips over the mold, overlapping them
Leave openings for eyes, nose, and mouth
Apply several layers for strength
Let the mask dry completely between layers
Add extra layers around edges and weak spots
Cut out eye holes and other openings if needed after drying
Remove the mask from the mold once fully dry
Trim rough edges with scissors
Paint the mask
Let the paint dry
Add decorations such as feathers, glitter, string, or elastic
Attach a ribbon, string, or elastic band to wear the mask
