How to Make a Vanilla Cake?

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)

Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans

Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each

Mix in vanilla extract

Add dry ingredients and milk alternately, beginning and ending with dry ingredients

Mix until just combined

Divide the batter evenly between the pans

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes

Check doneness with a toothpick

Cool in the pans for 10 minutes

Remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack

Frost as desired
