2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt for topping
Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl
Let stand until foamy
Add olive oil, salt, and 3 1/2 cups flour
Mix until a dough forms
Knead in remaining flour until smooth and elastic
Place dough in a greased bowl
Cover and let rise until doubled
Preheat oven to 400°F
Punch down dough
Divide dough into strips
Roll each strip into a breadstick shape
Place on a greased or lined baking sheet
Cover and let rise briefly
Bake until golden brown
Mix melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and salt
Brush topping over warm breadsticks
Serve warm
