Open Instagram and go to your profile
Tap the menu icon in the top right
Tap Settings and privacy
Tap Privacy
Tap Private account
Turn on Private account
Note that Instagram does not let you make your following list fully private from approved followers
Remove followers you do not want to see your following list
Block users if you do not want them to see your profile or activity
Limit who can interact with your account using privacy settings
