How to Make Pinto Beans in a Crock Pot?

Rinse and sort 1 pound dried pinto beans

Soak the beans overnight in plenty of water, or use a quick-soak method if desired

Drain and rinse the beans after soaking

Add the beans to the crock pot

Add 6 to 8 cups fresh water or broth

Add salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and any other seasonings you want

Add ham, bacon, or a ham hock if desired

Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours

Stir occasionally if possible and add more liquid if needed

Check that the beans are tender before serving

Adjust seasoning to taste before serving
