4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
2 tablespoons butter or oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup water or broth
Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat
Add sliced onions and cook until softened
Add sliced potatoes and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika
Stir to coat the potatoes evenly
Pour in water or broth
Cover the skillet and cook on low to medium heat until potatoes are tender
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
Remove the lid and cook until the liquid reduces and potatoes are browned
Serve hot
