Gather thick cord, scissors, tape or a clip, and a clasp or knotting material
Cut three equal lengths of cord
Fold the cords in half if you want a looped starting end
Secure the top end with tape or a clip
Separate the cords into three strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the new middle strand
Repeat the right-over-middle and left-over-middle pattern
Keep the braid tight and even
Continue braiding until the bracelet reaches the desired length
Secure the end with a knot, clasp, or crimp
Trim any excess cord
Seal the ends if needed to prevent fraying
