Park the car on a flat surface and switch off the engine
Pull the bonnet release lever inside the car, usually near the driver’s footwell or under the dashboard
Go to the front of the car and locate the bonnet safety catch
Slide or lift the safety catch to release the bonnet
Lift the bonnet upward
Secure the bonnet with the support rod or let the gas struts hold it open if fitted
