How To Peel A Butternut?

Wash and dry the butternut squash

Cut off both ends with a sharp knife

Microwave the squash for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the skin, if desired

Stand the squash upright on a stable cutting board

Use a vegetable peeler or sharp knife to remove the skin in long strips

Peel from top to bottom, turning the squash as needed

Trim any remaining tough spots with a knife

Cut the squash in half lengthwise

Scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp with a spoon

Cut into the desired shape for cooking
