Let the polish sit for the recommended time if using a commercial product
Buff the brass with a clean dry cloth
Repeat if needed until the shine returns
Rinse off any residue if required by the product
Dry the brass completely
Apply a thin coat of wax or lacquer-safe protectant if desired
Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, and harsh cleaners
Wear gloves if the brass is heavily tarnished or if using strong cleaners
