Gather wax, wicks, containers or molds, a double boiler, thermometer, and fragrance or dye if desired
Measure the wax needed for your container or mold
Melt the wax slowly using a double boiler
Monitor the wax temperature with a thermometer
Add dye and fragrance if using, and stir gently
Secure the wick in the center of the container or mold
Pour the melted wax carefully into the container or mold
Keep the wick centered while the wax cools
Let the candle cool and harden completely
Trim the wick to the desired length
Remove the candle from the mold if needed
Store the finished candle in a cool, dry place
