Wash the yellow squash under cool running water
Trim off both ends
Slice, dice, or halve the squash as desired
Remove seeds if the squash is large and mature
Heat a skillet, oven, grill, or steamer
Add oil, butter, or seasoning if cooking in a pan
Sauté over medium heat until tender
Roast at 400°F until lightly browned and soft
Grill until marked and cooked through
Steam until just tender
Season with salt, pepper, garlic, herbs, or lemon juice
Serve immediately or use in soups, casseroles, or salads
