Turn on the device you want to control
Insert fresh batteries into the GE universal remote
Find the correct code for your device brand in the remote’s code list
Press and hold the Setup button until the red indicator stays on
Press the device button you want to program, such as TV, DVD, or AUX
Enter the code using the number buttons
Wait for the red indicator to turn off
Test the remote functions
If the code does not work, repeat the steps with another code
If your remote has a code search feature, press and hold Setup until the light stays on
Press the device button
Press Power or Channel Up repeatedly until the device turns off or responds
Press Enter or OK to save the code
Test the remote again
Repeat for each device you want to program
