Pinch or snip off the top 1–2 inches of stems
Cut just above a leaf node
Remove flower buds as soon as they appear
Trim back leggy stems regularly
Harvest mint often to encourage bushier growth
Cut the plant back by about one-third if it becomes overgrown
Remove any dead, yellow, or damaged stems
Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears
Avoid cutting more than two-thirds of the plant at once
Prune mint in the morning when stems are firm
Keep mint trimmed throughout the growing season
Cut mint back to just above the soil in late fall or early spring if needed
